Client Privacy Statement
Your privacy is important to us. At Hear Well - Live Well, we are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). For information you give us through this website, see our Website Privacy page.
What information do we collect?
- Name, address, date of birth and contact details
- Medical and hearing history
- Hearing device, battery, maintenance and repair details
- Medicare, pension, DVA or Hearing Services Program (HSP) voucher information, if applicable
How do we use your information?
- Provide hearing assessments, fittings, repairs and follow-up care
- Check eligibility and process claims under the Hearing Services Program
- Arrange maintenance and battery supply
- Communicate with your GP, ENT or other healthcare professionals as needed
- Keep accurate clinical and program records
How do we store your information?
Your records are held in Auditdata, our practice management system, and in physical files while we complete the move to fully digital records. Only authorised staff can access your information.
We use an audiology-specific AI scribe to help prepare clinical notes during some appointments. This tool processes your appointment audio on overseas servers to generate the note; it does not store your information overseas. The finished note is saved in your file in Australia once your audiologist has reviewed and approved it. We ask for your consent to this before it is used, on your consent form.
Who do we share your information with?
- The Australian Government Hearing Services Program (eligibility and claims)
- Your GP, ENT specialist or other health providers involved in your care
- Hearing aid manufacturers (repairs, warranties and supply)
- The AI clinical-notes tool described above, for the purpose of preparing your notes
- When required by law (for example, a court order)
We do not share your details with anyone else for marketing.
Communication
We may contact you about appointments, results and when you are due for a check. That is part of your care. From time to time we may also send hearing-health tips and clinic news. Every one of those has an unsubscribe, and stopping them will not affect your appointments or your care.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see or correct your personal information at any time.
